Co-sponsored by the High Desert Writing Project and the Children's Literature Inquiry Project, this one-day conference will bring together teachers from across New Mexico to explore the teaching and learning of language arts, writing, and literature.

Conference sessions will focus on writing, multimodal literacies, children's literature, language arts standards and assessment (including the new Common Core Standards) and many other topics of interest to teachers of language arts in grades K-12.
Keynote speakers will be Harvey Daniels, author of Comprehension and Collaboration: Inquiry Circles in Action and Literature Circles: Voice and Choice in Book Clubs and Reading Groups and George Ancona, award winning photographer and author of many books for young readers including The Pinata Maker and Fiesta Fireworks.
